Welcome

Hello! I am Mrs. Harper, and I am the Assistant Principal at Alcoa Intermediate! Prior to this, I have served as the Instructional and Intervention Coach at Alcoa Intermediate School and as a classroom teacher in third, fourth, and first grades. I have taught here in Alcoa City Schools since 2007. I am so excited to have the opportunity to serve our students, staff, district, and community as the Assistant Principal at AIS. I love the intermediate school years so very much. I am passionate about education and helping create curriculum and instruction that helps students not only attain understanding of skills but become lifelong learners, problem solvers, and effective communicators.

My husband, Michael, and I have two wonderful, wild sons, Owen (7) and Judah (3). They keep us entertained every minute! I love watching their brains develop and their curiosity of the world; education truly is my calling. They are already little Tornadoes, and I cannot wait to watch their future unfold as an Alcoa Tornado as well. Even though I didn’t grow up in Alcoa, there is no where I would rather teach and raise my children! Alcoa has blessed me in many ways, and I love the diverse, close-knit community at its heart.

If I can help or be of assistance to you in any way please do not hesitate to reach out. My heart is to serve this community and help AIS grow to reach its endless opportunities. We are a team and love seeing our school working with parents, students, and the community to reach its greatest potential. My door is always open to serve and help you!
