REGISTRATION FEE iS $20.00 IF PAID ONLINE BEFORE THE DAY OF THE TOURNAMENT. After that, it goes up to $25 the day of the tournament. Note, if you fill out the registration form online you can wait to pay at the tournament when check in that day and only owe whatever the fee was the day you registered.
As we have done the previous five years, this will be a K-12 (scholastic players only) tournament with 8 sections: Championship (USCF Members who are Rated or Unrated) K-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12 and Non-Rated (Non USCF members) K-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12. All Non-Rated sections will play FIVE Rounds (games) with 30 minutes per player per round (G/30). Rated sections K-6th Grade will play 5 Rounds with 45 minutes per player per round (G/45). Rated 7th-12th Grade will play 4 Rounds with 60 minutes per player per round (G/60). All sections will utilize a 5 second per move delay (d5). Registration/check-in ends at 8:30am and the first round starts at 9am. Each successive round will be played ASAP. Non-Rated sections will be finished with play at or before 2pm. Rated sections could last till 5pm or later. Players may request ONE half-point Bye IN ADVANCE if they need to skip a round.
Prizes will be trophies for 1st-? (depends on # of entries) place in all sections EXCEPT 7th-12th RATED, who will have CASH prizes! Top Non-Rated players will also winn USCF memberships. We will also have prizes for teams based on the top 4 players' scores per team per section added together. A team may consist of 2 or more players from the same school.
Finally, For the 3rd year in a row, there will be a BUGHOUSE CHESS MATCH at 8:30am (before Round 1). This is a fun, fast-paced game, consisting of teams of two playing as partners.
