Profile
Salutations and welcome to Alcoa Intermediate School!
My name is Matt Price and I am a third grade teacher at AIS. I come from a family of educators representing school districts from Alcoa, Blount County, Knox County, Hancock County, and Thailand. My wonderful wife teaches sixth grade science at Alcoa Middle School. We have two amazing girls that keep us busy. When time and money allows, we enjoy traveling, dining, attending concerts or productions, and spending time with family and friends. I also love to fish, camp, and play the guitar. I am still working on mastering the banjo and mandolin, if proficiency is measured by how often I look in the general direction of the instrument. This is my eighteenth year teaching at Alcoa City Schools. I have taught first, second, and third grades. When I am not at school, you can often find me on my boat at the lake or wading a mountain stream chasing fish. I have obtained a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology and a Masters in Elementary Education from the University of Tennessee and an Educational Specialist Degree (EdS) in Curriculum and Instruction from Lincoln Memorial University.
