Profile
My name is Lesley Doherty, and I am a 4th grade teacher at Alcoa Intermediate School. I began my teaching career in 1998 (hard for me to believe!). I started out by completing my internship at Alcoa Elementary in intermediate multiage, before moving on to teach 8th grade for 3 years at Sweetwater Junior High. Since returning to Alcoa, I have taught 3rd,4th & 5th grade. I attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, receiving my Masters in Elementary Education after finishing Bachelors degrees in Psychology and Advertising. I later completed my Educational Specialist degree at Lincoln Memorial University. My family moved to Tennessee from Ohio in 1985 and still lives in the area. We have family scattered across the globe which developed a love of travel in me from an early age. I enjoy trying to connect my travel experiences to my classroom content whenever possible! I look forward to working with you and your families!
