I was born and raised in Alcoa.  I went to Springbrook School, Alcoa Jr. High and Alcoa High School.  I graduated from Tennessee Tech in Cookeville with a Bachelor of Art in Education. I received my Masters from Lincoln Memorial.  In 1982 was hired by Alcoa City Schools as a para professional in Special Education and worked there for 4 years before being hired to teach in a First Grade Classroom.  I have taught in grades K, 1st, 2nd and 3rd over the last 30+ years that I have been at Alcoa. 

I am married to Ed Roach, who works for the Athletic Department at The University of Tennessee. We have two daughters Audrey and Savannah.  They are both active in sports at Alcoa High School.
