I was born in San Diego, California. I moved to Tennessee as a child.  I graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree in education. I have taught in Alcoa City Schools for 34 years. I am married to Tim Russell who also teaches in Alcoa City Schools.  We have 2 children.
