About Me
Hi! I’m Mrs. Duffey, and I’m so excited to be a part of our school community! I have been teaching since 2021 and hold a Master’s degree in Special Education from the University of Tennessee.
My passion for special education began long before I became a teacher. In high school, I had the opportunity to serve as a peer mentor in a CDC classroom, and that experience had a lasting impact on me. I quickly discovered how much I loved building relationships with students, celebrating their individual strengths, and being a part of their growth. That experience ultimately inspired me to pursue a career in special education.
I believe that every student has unique strengths, abilities, and potential, and I love creating a classroom environment where students feel supported, celebrated, and empowered to learn and grow.
When I’m not at school, you can usually find me teaching Pilates, playing mahjong, or hosting friends and family at home. I love staying active, spending time with the people I love, and making memories outside of the classroom.
I’m so grateful to be a part of our school family!
